Pour Point, Cloud Point & CFPP Testers

RIGO's low-temperature testers automate the pour point, cloud point and cold filter plugging point determinations that govern how a fuel behaves in cold weather, detecting the sample optically rather than by torque so the surface is never disturbed.

Rigo — Pour Point, Cloud Point & CFPP Testers

Overview

Pour point, cloud point and cold filter plugging point together describe how a fuel or lubricant behaves as it cools — when wax first appears, when flow stops, and when a filter blocks. RIGO's testers combine a cooling unit with a compact metal test bath and detect the sample with photo-sensors and glass-fibre light guides, mimicking what the analyst's eye would see. For pour point the bath itself tilts and moves rather than applying a torque, so even a barely mobile sample can be measured without disturbing its surface. The range covers pour point alone, pour and cloud point together, and the RPCF series adding cold filter plugging point, in one-, two- and three-unit configurations to ASTM D97, D2500 and D6371, ISO 3016 and 3015, IP 309 and JIS K2269 and K2288.
