Automatic Cold Filter Plugging Point Tester: RCF-01CML / -02CML / -03CML / -04CML / -06CML

Overview

This is a dedicated cold filter plugging point tester for laboratories that do not require combined pour and cloud point measurement. A lower photo-sensor that detects whether a drawn-up sample has failed to return to the test tube is fitted as standard, providing the same reverse-plugging protection found on RIGO's combined instruments. Each test bath can be controlled independently, following either a staged temperature program or a linear temperature gradient. In the staged mode, the two-refrigerator circulation system steps the bath temperature through 48°C, -34°C, -51°C, and -67°C in sequence, while the linear gradient mode can run at a rate expressed in °C per minute or, for field-style slow cooling, in °C per hour.

Reverse Plugging Point Detection

A dedicated lower photo-sensor confirms whether the sample drawn into the pipette has returned to the test tube; if it fails to return within the expected time, the instrument records that condition as part of the CFPP result. This standard feature reduces the risk of a false reading when highly waxy samples resist flowing back through the filter.

Staged or Linear Temperature Control

Operators can choose RIGO's proprietary two-bath circulation step program, which automatically shifts the test bath through 48°C, -34°C, -51°C, and -67°C without removing the sample container, or a linear cooling gradient set in °C per minute. A slower linear gradient expressed in °C per hour is also available, intended primarily for field testing conditions.
