Overview

The 403-262 is a precision constant-temperature bath designed and manufactured in conformity with JIS K2283, ASTM D445/D446, and ISO 3104/3105 for kinematic viscosity determination. It is the successor to the long-serving 403-162 model, redesigned for a smaller footprint, lower power consumption, and improved safety. The bath's temperature control uses a PID control method that reliably maintains the set temperature to within ±0.01°C. High-temperature testing is covered by the companion 404 series, and low-temperature testing exclusively by the 405 series, so the three series together span the full temperature range needed for kinematic viscosity work.

The bath's PID-based temperature controller maintains the set point to within ±0.01°C, which supports the tight repeatability requirements of JIS K2283, ASTM D445/D446, and ISO 3104/3105. Consistent, stable bath temperature is essential for accurate kinematic viscosity results, since even small temperature deviations translate directly into measurement error.

The 403 series is intended for medium-temperature kinematic viscosity testing, while the 404 series is suited to high-temperature applications. The 405 series is dedicated exclusively to low-temperature testing, completing the temperature range covered by the three series.
