Automatic Vacuum Distillation Analyzer: RVD-301 Series
The RVD-301 automates the vacuum (reduced-pressure) distillation test for petroleum products in accordance with JIS K2254 and ASTM D1160. It is designed for samples with high boiling points that would thermally decompose if distilled at atmospheric pressure.

Overview
The RVD-301 automates the vacuum (reduced-pressure) distillation test for petroleum products in accordance with JIS K2254 and ASTM D1160. It is designed for samples with high boiling points that would thermally decompose if distilled at atmospheric pressure. The instrument features a fraction-cut function that can be set by distillate-quantity priority or by top-temperature priority, and it prints results together with the distillation curve. The RVD-301MF is an upgraded four-fraction version that automatically sorts the distillate into four cylinders according to the same temperature or distillate-quantity cut conditions. Two pressure ranges are available, covering 1 to 10 Torr (0.133 to 1.33 kPa) and 1 to 100 Torr (0.133 to 13.3 kPa).
Automatic Fraction Cutting
The instrument can be programmed to stop or divide fractions based on either the volume of distillate collected or the vapor top temperature reached. This flexibility allows operators to tailor the distillation cut points to the specific product specification being tested. Results, including the distillation curve, are automatically produced on the built-in printer.
Four-Cylinder Fraction Collector (MF Series)
The RVD-301MF variant upgrades the standard single-receiver design with an automatic four-cylinder fraction collector. Under a single pressure setting, distillate is sorted into four separate cylinders according to preset temperature or volume cut points. This model also adds automatic switching between tap water and hot water for the condenser cooling circuit.
Precise Pressure and Temperature Monitoring
Vacuum pressure is measured with a capacitance-type pressure transducer for stable, repeatable readings during the test. Top and bottom vapor temperatures are monitored with J-type thermocouples and shown on an LED digital display. PID control governs the distillation rate, which is maintained between 4 and 8 mL per minute as required by the test method.
