Automatic Dropping Point Testers
The dropping point of a grease is the temperature at which it passes from a semi-solid to a liquid state, indicating the type of thickener used and the upper temperature at which the grease will retain its structure.

Overview
A grease is an oil held in a thickener matrix, and the dropping point marks where that matrix releases the oil. It is not the maximum service temperature, but it identifies the thickener type and sets an upper bound on where the grease can be expected to stay in place. RIGO's automatic tester heats the sample cup at a controlled rate and detects the falling drop optically, testing two samples at once and recording the result to JIS K2220, ASTM D566, IP 132 and ISO 2176.
