Manufacturer: SPI Supplies — USA

Overview

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) are a class of nanostructured layered crystals under intensive research for their electronic, optical, magnetic, thermal, and mechanical properties. SPI Supplies offers single-crystal pieces of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and several TMDCs, including molybdenum diselenide, tungsten disulfide, tungsten diselenide, molybdenum ditelluride, and tungsten ditelluride. These materials share a layered structure comparable to graphite, with strong in-plane covalent bonding and weak out-of-plane van der Waals interactions, allowing them to be readily exfoliated into monolayer or few-layer nanosheets. All grades are stable under ambient environments, making them practical starting materials for exfoliation-based device fabrication and nanomaterials research.

Materials Offered

The line includes Hexagonal Boron Nitride Grade A (hBN-A) supplied as 20 or more single crystals of 0.5-1 mm size, plus single-crystal pieces of MoSe2, WS2, WSe2, MoTe2, and WTe2. Most crystals are supplied as a single piece approximately 10 mm2 in area, with MoTe2 supplied as a 3 x 3 mm piece.
