Beyond individual stubs, the SEM Mounts catalogue includes specialty aluminum holders designed to carry multiple mounts, support samples that cannot be flattened, or organize mounts on the bench during preparation. The Multi-Sample Holder is a carousel-style fixture that accepts up to eight pin-type mounts with a 1/8 in (3 mm) pin, useful for coating or imaging batches of specimens in a single stage insertion. The Specimen Vise Mount holds fibers, hairs, fabrics, or small die-shaped samples upright on edge for an edge-on view with minimal charging, and was developed for forensic microscopy work where samples cannot be metallized or otherwise altered. Mount work stations provide a benchtop tray that holds a set number of round and pin-type mounts during handling and storage.
Multi-Sample Holder
The universal-design Multi-Sample Holder is machined from aluminum alloy and has a 47 mm (1.85 in) outside table diameter, accepting up to eight SPI pin-type mounts with a 1/8 in (3 mm) diameter pin.
Vise Mount & Work Stations
The vertical Specimen Vise Mount has an 8 mm pin length, 3 mm pin diameter, 25 mm overall height, and 12.5 mm outside diameter. Mount work stations are sold in versions that hold 14 mounts, sized for 10 mm, 12.5 mm, or 15 mm round mounts paired with 1/8 in (3 mm) pin-type mounts.
