Kammrath & Weiss Transfer Module
The Kammrath & Weiss Transfer Module is a specialized capsule device that carries air- or moisture-sensitive specimens between an SEM stage and a glove box without exposing them to the ambient atmosphere.

Manufacturer: SPI Supplies — USA
Overview
The Kammrath & Weiss Transfer Module is a specialized capsule device that carries air- or moisture-sensitive specimens between an SEM stage and a glove box without exposing them to the ambient atmosphere. It mounts on the SEM specimen stage in the same way as an ordinary specimen holder and installs in only a few moments, with a cable bundle running to a vacuum-tight flange on the chamber door or wall. Inside the capsule, a small motor-driven lid opens and closes over a platform holding up to eight Cambridge-style specimen stubs or two 25 mm discs, sealed by a polished O-ring when closed. Two battery-buffered controllers are supplied, one for use at the SEM and one for use inside the glove box, so no modifications to the glove box itself are required.
Contamination-Free Transfer
Specimens are loaded into the capsule under the protective atmosphere of a glove box, then transported to the SEM stage with the lid sealed by a fine polished O-ring, protecting them from air or moisture exposure throughout the move.
Simple Mounting
The module mounts on the SEM specimen stage just like an ordinary specimen holder and takes only a few moments to install, moving together with the stage inside the specimen chamber. Overall assembly height does not exceed 40 mm.
Dual Battery-Buffered Controllers
Two battery-buffered controllers operate the capsule's motorized lid: one remains at the SEM and the second is carried into the glove box through the airlock, allowing the capsule to be opened and closed on both sides without any glove box modification.
Optional Heating and Cooling
A heating or heating/cooling platform can be integrated at the factory or retrofitted later. Once fitted with a heater, the module's specimen capacity is reduced to a single 10 x 10 mm specimen, and the loaded module can still be tilted by an amount that depends on the host SEM, typically around 30 degrees.
