DENKA M-3 LaB6 Filaments / Cathodes
DENKA M-3 lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) filaments are single-crystal electron-gun cathodes offered as a higher-brightness alternative to tungsten hairpin filaments.

Manufacturer: SPI Supplies — USA
Overview
DENKA M-3 lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) filaments are single-crystal electron-gun cathodes offered as a higher-brightness alternative to tungsten hairpin filaments. LaB6 cathodes provide higher electron-source brightness and longer service life than tungsten, making them the preferred emitter for higher-resolution SEM and TEM work. SPI Supplies stocks brand-specific LaB6 cathodes engineered to fit the gun geometry of particular instrument manufacturers rather than a single universal design. Each cathode is sold individually and installed as a direct replacement in the existing electron gun assembly.
Instrument-Specific Cathodes
LaB6 cathodes are offered for Amray/Philips systems, Hitachi instruments, LEO/Leica/Cambridge systems, ISI instruments (separate cathodes for TEM and SEM configurations), JEOL K-type guns, and Zeiss/Tescan systems, each machined to the corresponding gun mounting geometry.
