Solid Aluminum Optical Breadboard Plate

Overview

Newport's SA2 series solid aluminum optical breadboard plates provide a cost-effective, non-magnetic solid surface with a grid of 1/4-20 or M6 tapped holes for building optical assemblies, small subsystems, and small optical experiments. The breadboards feature a low-reflectance matte black anodized aluminum working surface and a solid 12.7 mm thick aluminum plate construction. Four corner counterbored through holes make the plates easy to mount, including retrofitting onto existing optical tables so the hole pattern aligns with the table's grid instead of being offset from it.

Low Reflectance Working Surface

SA2 breadboards have a matte black anodized surface that reduces unwanted reflections compared to honeycomb breadboards that use a stainless steel top skin. Anodized aluminum is also non-magnetic, unlike stainless steel working surfaces.

Counterbored Through Holes for Easy Mounting

SA2 breadboards feature four counterbored through holes in the corners, making it easy to retrofit them to existing optical tables for increased workspace and convenience. The mounting through holes are located on the mounting hole grid, so an SA2 breadboard mounted to an optical table has its hole pattern aligned with the table's hole pattern instead of being offset from it.
