TRA DC Servo Actuators With CONEX Motion Controller

Overview

Newport's TRA DC servo actuators with CONEX motion controllers are a low cost solution for general OEM and research applications. They incorporate a space-saving design that allows them to be used with a wide variety of manual stages, mirror mounts, and OEM applications. The CONEX-CC motion controller is comparable in size to a deck of cards and is preconfigured and delivered with the motion device for out-of-the-box PC control.

TRA DC Servo Actuators

TRA DC servo linear actuators feature a slim design that minimizes the space used when upgrading a manual stage or optical mount to a motorized solution. They include a hard-coated steel ball tip that minimizes contact surface wear and highly reliable optical limit switches.

Compact DC Servo Motion Controller

The CONEX-CC motion controller is comparable in size to a deck of cards, and up to six CONEX-CC controllers can fit on a CONEX-BP baseplate. The low-noise linear amplifier provides the optimum drive solution for low-power DC motors, delivering smooth motion with less electrical noise and motor heating.

Out-of-the-Box PC Control

For out-of-the-box control, the CONEX controller is preconfigured and delivered with the motion device, requiring only power, USB connection, and the free motion GUI to begin moving a sample or sensor. RS-232 and RS-485 communications are also embedded for OEM or security sensitive applications.

Scalable Architecture

CONEX motion controllers can be connected via daisy chain to create multi-axis systems, with power shared by up to five CONEX-CC modules using the optional power chain cable. This allows for a convenient, low cost multi-axis system.
