LED Fiber-Optic Illuminator

Overview

The Oriel LED Fiber Optic Illuminators are economical, energy efficient, white light sources. Their flexible but simple operation methods and compact size allow for easy integration into any existing spectroscopy setup, especially fiber coupled applications. The 66088-LED provides 15 W of white light output and the 66088-LED50 provides 50 W, both excluding ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths that can be undesirable in other spectroscopy systems.

High Intensity White LED Light Source

The 66088-LED is provided by a 15 W white light LED, and the 66088-LED50 integrates a 50 W white light LED, with the visible light spectrum of both excluding ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths that can be undesirable or even damaging in other spectroscopy systems.

Versatile Light Guide Adapter Socket

The light guide adapter socket on the front panel is adjustable to accept any existing light guide, and a liquid light guide is recommended for its high transmittance over the output wavelength range of the light source.

Four Methods of Brightness Control

Output intensity can be controlled by a manual knob or adjust buttons, an external 0-5 VDC analog signal, pulse width modulation, or, exclusive to the 66088-LED, an RS232 port for remote intensity adjustment.

Long Lifetime

As a solid-state LED light source, the 66088-LED(50) holds several advantages over traditional arc and QTH lamp light sources, including a lifetime of 30,000 hours, greater energy efficiency, and a much more compact package.
