Velocity® Tunable External Cavity Diode Lasers
The Velocity is Spectra-Physics' premier tunable external cavity diode laser system, offering both wide and fine wavelength scanning across wavelengths from the UV to the mid-IR.

Manufacturer: Spectra-Physics — USA
Overview
The Velocity is Spectra-Physics' premier tunable external cavity diode laser system, offering both wide and fine wavelength scanning across wavelengths from the UV to the mid-IR. The laser cavity housing is shock-proof and thermally insulated with active temperature control, and incorporates unique magnetic damping technology to provide higher power, stability, and narrow linewidths. Velocity lasers are widely used in quantum physics research, including micro-cavity resonators and quantum dots, as well as spectroscopy applications.
True Mode-Hop-Free Tuning
The Velocity provides true continuous mode-hop-free tuning with wide scanning ranges and fine tuning resolution, available in free-space or fiber-coupled configurations.
Linewidth Measurement
Velocity linewidth is characterized using both the heterodyne beat note method, showing a deconvoluted linewidth below 200 kHz over a 50 ms integration time, and the delayed self-beat note method, showing 2.5 kHz over a 4.6 µs measurement.
