Overview
The PNR 500 automatic penetrometer builds on more than 60 years of penetration testing experience. Standardized cones and needles with defined weights and geometries measure penetration depth in materials from bitumen and grease to waxes, butter, and pharmaceutical formulations, with a patented force-sensor plunger providing automatic surface detection for reproducible results. Preset methods, integrated statistics with conversion to standardized values such as NLGI class, and USB or LIMS export streamline routine consistency testing in compliance with ASTM D5, EN 1426, ISO 2137, European Pharmacopoeia 2.9.9, USP 915, and related standards.
