Flow Cups & Zahn Cups
Flow cups and Zahn cups measure viscosity by timing how long a fixed volume takes to drain through a calibrated orifice — a fast, inexpensive check well suited to production and on-site quality control of paints, inks and varnishes.

Overview
Not every viscosity measurement needs a thermostatted bath. For paints, inks, varnishes and similar coatings, an efflux cup gives a usable number in seconds: the cup is filled, the orifice opened, and the drain time recorded. RIGO supplies both the dipping Zahn cup, which is lowered directly into the container, and the bench-standing flow cup to JIS K5600-2-2 and ISO 2431. Both are offered in a range of orifice sizes so the efflux time falls in a readable window for the material being checked.
