Graphene Grids
Graphene grids provide an ultrathin, atomically smooth support film produced by a unique patented chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process for high-resolution TEM applications.
Manufacturer: SPI Supplies — USA
Overview
Graphene grids provide an ultrathin, atomically smooth support film produced by a unique patented chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process for high-resolution TEM applications. SPI Supplies offers graphene oxide films transferred onto lacey carbon and onto Quantifoil holey carbon support films on standard copper mesh grids, giving a clean and uniform substrate. The use of graphene in research is a growing area requiring a source of high quality materials and substrates. The very low mass-thickness of graphene minimizes background signal and beam interaction compared with conventional carbon films, making it attractive for imaging small nanoparticles, 2D materials, and other beam-sensitive specimens.
Film Types
Graphene oxide is supplied on 300 mesh lacey carbon copper grids and on 200 mesh Quantifoil R2/4 holey carbon copper grids, combining the mechanical support of the underlying carbon film with the thin, uniform graphene oxide layer.
Applications
These grids are used where an ultrathin, low-background support is needed for high-resolution imaging or diffraction of nanoscale specimens, and as a substrate platform for depositing or growing further 2D materials for characterization.
