Spin Coaters
Spin coating produces thin, highly uniform films by dispensing a liquid onto a substrate and spinning it at controlled speed — the standard method for photoresists, polymer films and sol-gel coatings in research laboratories.

Overview
Spin coating remains the simplest reliable way to lay down a uniform thin film: liquid is dispensed onto a substrate, which then spins so that centrifugal force spreads it evenly while the solvent evaporates. Film thickness is governed by spin speed, solution viscosity and time, so a two-stage programme — a slow spread step followed by a fast thinning step — gives repeatable results across a wide range of materials. The KW-4A covers this with independent control of both stages and interchangeable vacuum chucks for different substrate sizes. It is used for photoresists, polymer films, sol-gel coatings and nanoparticle suspensions.
