Overview
The SPECTROTEST mobile metal analyzer delivers the highest analytical performance and maximum sample throughput for verification and identification of metals on site. It prevents grade mix-ups of incoming materials on the production floor, at the shipping dock, or when sorting metals for value-optimized recycling, and flaunts its superior performance especially when exact analyses are required, when materials are difficult to identify, or when there is a large number of samples to be tested.
Built for Harsh Environments
The rugged, lightweight transport trolley is a stable platform with large wheels, high clearance, and a locking brake for easy movement along uneven terrain. SPECTROTEST comes with a 4 m quick-change sample probe (an 8 m probe is optional) for a wide area of operation without moving the spectrometer. The light, thin probe is quickly converted between arc excitation and spark excitation under a protective argon atmosphere, electrodes and adapters change without tools, and a probe with an integrated UV optic is available for certain applications.
High-Performance Analysis
The optical system offers probably the widest wavelength range in its class – 174 nm to 670 nm – with all elements necessary for complete metal analysis available. SPECTROTEST can identify low-alloy steel including carbon content in the rapid arc excitation mode; in spark mode, analysis of carbon, phosphorus, and sulfur is possible, along with identification of duplex steels using their nitrogen content. Measuring times start at 2 seconds in arc mode and 5 seconds in spark mode.
Standardization and Mobility Features
The proven iCAL Intelligent Calibration Logic monitors the correct state of the measuring system independently of external influences, and iCAL 2.0 maintains the same one-sample standardization regardless of most temperature shifts. An efficient plasma generator sustains high sample throughput even during battery operation, with up to 800 measurements on a single battery charge. The integrated PC offers LAN, USB, VGA, and WLAN connectivity with a large 15-inch display, and a freely accessible argon bottle allows rapid replacement.
Software and Data Anywhere
The instrument software provides complete operator guidance and aligns itself automatically with the selected metal testing task, displaying all relevant data on one screen. The automatic program finder (APF) and optional APF+ ensure the optimal test method is selected for the best results, and stored results are easily processed with the Result Manager. A pre-installed materials library covers common alloys and can be extended at any time; the optional SPECTRO Metal Database adds prepackaged libraries and a Grade Library Builder for identifying virtually any common commercial alloy. An app displays the measuring screen on a PC monitor, tablet, or smartphone, so results can be observed simultaneously in the laboratory and on site.
